The Ohku tub is the world’s first wood-fired concrete hot tub. It is generously comfortable for one, two or a small family of four. Like Japanese ofuro tubs, our soaking tub is meant for complete relaxation and reconnection, leaving you feeling nurtured by nature.

The freestanding concrete tub is a low water volume design that ergonomically hugs the body, wrapping you in warmth as you lie back. The concrete finish of the tub feels smooth as silk against your skin, yet is durable enough for any season. It sits atop our beautiful floating cedar wood platform and heats in under an hour.

All necessary fittings, including the stainless steel wood-fired heater and floating cedar wood platform are included with each tub, to have you soaking outdoors in no time.

Our Concrete Wood Fired Hot Tub is a double ended freestanding tub with rounded soft edges and thick exterior walls, making it the perfect piece for your outdoor space. Its minimalistic and off-grid design doesn’t require any electricity and is the perfect addition to any home or accommodation site. 

The Ohku Tub blurs the boundaries between a wood fired hot tub, a soaking tub, and an outdoor bathtub: it functions like a wood fired hot tub, is inspired by the culture of Japanese soaking tubs, and most physically resembles that of a freestanding bathtub. Stripped of any chemicals, jets, or pumps, this wood fired soaking tub leaves the user with the raw and elemental experience of soaking in the outdoors. The experience of soaking in the Ohku Wood Fired Hot Tub is as close as you can get to a natural hot spring experience.

The Nordic-inspired cedar wood platform elevates the concrete tub to the precise height for optimum heating. The water is heated by the principle of thermosiphon, a method of passive heat exchange, based on natural convection. The water heated from the stove displaces the cold water in the tub, naturally circulating through the external stainless steel heater without the need of electricity.

The sustainable design of the tub uses only natural materials, including concrete from raw aggregate, stainless steel, and premium western red cedar wood. Red cedar wood was chosen due to its incredibly durable and naturally rot-resistant properties, and like its concrete counterpart, doesn’t require any maintenance or upkeep.

Our tub can be heated to temperature in under an hour with just an armful of wood. The external wood-fired stove not only heats efficiently, but also maintains the perfect soaking temperature for hours.

An ideal bath temperature can range between 90-105ºF, depending on personal preference. We recommend heating the tub up to 90ºF, and allowing it to naturally raise to your desired temperature.

Unlike other two-person hot tubs on the market, the Ohku tub uses 50% less water and can be drained after each use, so there is no need to add harmful chemicals. For a more resourceful soak, consider draining your tub into your garden beds or lawn. 

No electricity is required for our wood-fired soaking tub.

The Wood-Fired Hot Tub does not require professional installation or assembly. All you need is a flat surface and a water source. The tub can be carried by 4-6 people, and can be easily assembled by 2.

We’ve partnered with the leading experts in concrete manufacturing to bring you the highest quality concrete tubs that are built for the outdoors. Every wood fired hot tub is individually handcrafted to embrace the natural beauty and characteristics of concrete. Due to the natural composition of concrete, each product will have natural variations and be slightly unique. 

Holes or pockmarks on the surface of the tub is very natural and common with cast concrete, as this is the trapped air within the mixture. 

Texture and flow-lines can also occasionally occur when water is introduced to the mixture and is absorbed by the dry material.
